Dublin to miasto bogate w historię i kulturę. Od wieków było centrum nauki - to tu, w złotej epoce chrześcijaństwa mnisi produkowali święte manuskrypty w łacinie i grece, jak choćby piękną "Księgę z Kells". Od czasów Wikingów, podróżni przybywali na tutejsze uniwersytety. To miasto, które szczyci się także tym, że zamieszkiwało go aż 5 noblistów z dziedziny literatury. W dzisiejszych czasach to również siedziba takich korporacji jak Facebook, Amazon czy Google. Kilkakrotnie zdobywało też tytuł "Najprzyjaźniejszego miasta świata".
Nasza szkoła zlokalizowana jest w centrum Dublina, 5 minut od "Spire" - punktu centralnego miasta. Zajmujemy piękny, odnowiony budynek w gregoriańskim stylu. Na terenie szkoły studenci mogą korzystać ze wszystkich udogodnień: biblioteki, sal naukowych, podręczników i materiałów pomocniczych, pokojów studenckich, Internetu (w tym Wi-Fi) i komputerów studenckich. W budynku jest także kafejka studencka, w której można codziennie zakupić ciepłe i zimne napije oraz przekąski.
Program szkolenia
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
We developed this course to familiarise participants with key concepts and issues in project based learning and to help develop their skills and confidence in implementing it in the classroom. This course about project based learning, is delivered through project based learning methodologies providing participants with keen insight into how it works. Participants will work on a real world project focussing on the core stages of project based learning. At the end of the course participants will present the project they developed during the programme. Sharing the experience with professionals from a range of European countries participants can build a portfolio of project ideas to implement in their schools.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is of significant benefit to non-native teachers and trainers who:
- need to increase their awareness of current thinking on PBL developments
- wish to share ideas on best practice methodologies with colleagues from across Europe thereby improving the overall approach to teaching in their schools
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of this 1-week Project Based Learning course are:
- to familiarise participants with key concepts and issues in Project Based Learning
- to help develop participants’ skills in implementing PBL in the classroom
- to increase participants’ skill and confidence in the use of tech tools used in PBL
- to cover a variety of school projects for subjects such as English, geography and history with a focus on the tools and resources needed to make PBL accessible to learners through English
- to provide opportunities for improved methodology and creativity to help participants increase their student engagement and retention on their return to their own schools
- to provide an opportunity to develop and consolidate participants own language skills
- to establish contacts between teachers from a variety of European backgrounds and facilitate future networking among these professionals
- to promote awareness of contemporary Ireland
METHODOLOGY:
The input sessions are a blend of lecture format and practical activities. Throughout the course participants are encouraged to reflect on their own practice, consider alternative practices and try out a variety of classroom activities through lesson planning, workshops and presentations. Participants will build up a portfolio of project ideas and develop a project of their own.

- Increased confidence in developing and implementing PBL in the classroom
- Greater understanding of students’ needs and improved learner outcomes for their students
- Increased awareness of the range of uses for successful implementation of PBL in the school
- Digital portfolio of PBL material as a reference for implementing new techniques in participants own classrooms and to facilitate dissemination of the project to colleagues
- Participation in a real world project focusing on the core stages of PBL
- Increased awareness of the possibilities of exploiting easily available texts as a language teaching resource
- Enhancement of personal English Language skills
- Sharing of experience and knowledge with professionals from a range of European countries
- Increased knowledge of Irish history and culture

FORMAT:
This 1-week course on Project Based Learning consists of 24 morning contact hours as well as 2 afternoon workshops and an extensive cultural and social programme directly linked to the morning sessions.
FOLLOW UP:
On the final day of the course, the participants engage in a reflection session in which they are encouraged to examine benefits gained from the course. They then complete a course evaluation form. Participants on the course are encouraged to keep contact via email and private social networking. Trainers are available for follow-up advice and support at all times.

1) Monday
- Induction and introduction to the course. Creation of digital portfolio
- What is PBL? Key concepts and definitions of PBL
- An orientation tour of Dublin
2) Tuesday
- The stages involved in planning and executing a project
- Developing projects in our own classrooms. Examining cross-curricula projects. Real world examples
- Workshop: Developing PBL projects
3) Wednesday
- Technology and PBL – how to integrate technology into projects
- Workshop: Using web tools to design projects
- Visit to National Gallery
4) Thursday
- Utilising the four skills and PBL in the language classroom
- Assessment through projects
- Supervised workshop – participants have the opportunity to work on their project / get further practice on any of the resources viewed during the week under the supervision of one of the course tutors
5) Friday
- Presentation of participants’ projects. Peer assessment of colleagues’ projects and self -assessment of participants’ own contribution to the project. Finalising digital portfolio
- Course review and evaluation. Implications for future practice. Establish of base and guidelines for future contact and networking

Poniżej przedstawiamy orientacyjne koszty pakietów kurs+zakwaterowanie, przeliczone na walutę rozliczeń grantu tj. EUR. Propozycje te uwzględniają dozwolone przesunięcia środków między poszczególnymi kategoriami wydatków, tak aby całość kosztów była pokryta z grantu. W kolumnie kieszonkowe podana jest szacunkowa kwota, jaka pozostanie na dodatkowe wyżywienie, dojazdy komunikacją miejską itp. w zależności od wybranej opcji zakwaterowania. Kwota ta zależy także od sposobu rozliczania wyjazdu w Państwa szkole. Wydatki z kieszonkowego nie wymagają dokumentowania rachunkami.

Uwaga:
1. Grant Erasmus+ obejmuje także kwotę 350 EUR na każdego uczestnika projektu. Wg informacji uzyskanych z Agencji Narodowej istnieje możliwość przesunięcia tych pieniędzy na dopłatę do kosztów kursu – w przypadku wyboru droższego kursu.
